That Tap Water Is Legal but May Be Unhealthy

The 35-year-old federal law regulating tap water is so out of date that the water Americans drink can pose what scientists say are serious health risks — and still be legal.

Only 91 contaminants are regulated by the Safe Drinking Water Act, yet more than 60,000 chemicals are used within the United States, according to Environmental Protection Agency estimates. Government and independent scientists have scrutinized thousands of those chemicals in recent decades, and identified hundreds associated with a risk of cancer and other diseases at small concentrations in drinking water, according to an analysis of government records by The New York Times.

Phi Beta Iota: The US Government is staffed by good people with the best of intentions.  Their political leadership also has the best of intentions but has given up its integrity for partisan advantage that favors special interests.  In a word, the governance of the USA–not the government–has become corrupt and ineffective.  The Environmental Protections Agency (EPA) is incompetent, not because it wants to be, but because political partisanship has put it in a strait-jacket–it is led by a nice lady that knows nothing, parroting politically-appointed words about Climate Change that are fraudulent.  The threats are known; the policies that need to be harmonized are known; the eight demographic challengers that must be embraced are known.  What is not known is when, if, the US public will wake up, abolish the two-party tyranny, and restore the integrity of the Republic, “Of, By, and For We the People” instead of “Of, By, and For the Banks and Wall Street.”  Below are a tiny handful of recommended readings, everything on this web site support the Constitution of the United States and the restoration of the Republic as a Smart Nation.
