And however dazzling the power of big data appears, its seductive glimmer must never blind us to its inherent imperfections. Rather, we must adopt this technology with an appreciation not just of its power but also of its limitations.

Phi Beta Iota:  The major issue right now is the commoditization of data the way humans were ocmmoditized (i.e. humans are losing control of their own data and losing rights to the data they create), and the incoherence among all sets of data because of ingrained proprietary corruption — the democratization of data and its use demands an Open Source Everything (OSE) approach that corrupt legislatures are busy denying.
