A sugar industry group paid for studies that underplayed the role that added sugars play in heart disease, researchers reported Monday. Studies paid for by the lobbying group helped set the U.S. on a policy course that focused almost exclusively on fat as the main cause of heart disease, leaving out the considerable role that sugary foods play, the researchers said.
Phi Beta Iota: This is real simple. The US Government is supposed to represent the public, not special interests. In fact, the Food and Drug Adminstration (FDA) is a totally corrupt, totally owned and very sinister extension of the various special interests. An honest US Government would be superb at both intelligence and counter-intelligence, and would not allow lies to be told that are against the public interest. In passing, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and various other agencies (for example, the Federal Communications Commission, FCC, that failed to be honest about electromagnetic pollution harming human brains) are equally dishonest.
