ROBERT STEELE: Since I first ghost-wrote my very first article on intelligence reform for then Commandant of the Marine Corps Al Gray,

1989 General Al Gray on Global Intelligence Challenges

I have been very focused on this issue.  The truth at any cost lowers all other costs.

As General Tony Zinni, USMC, then Commanding General of the US Central Command (engaged in two wars and twelve Joint Task Force Actions) has stated so clearly, the US secret intelligence community provides, “at best” 4% of what a major commander needs — and as I have added — “and nothing for everyone else.” The secret IC is particularly inept at comparative economics (e.g. trade); at holistic analytics; at true cost economics; and at intelligence support to total force structure and acquisition.  I  wrote the article below to try to save Mike Flynn's job, hand delivering it to Chuck Hagel's home, to no effect, but General Flynn was kind enough to read it and tell me he agreed with most of it.

2014 Robert Steele On Defense Intelligence – Seven Strikes

The President needs Mike Flynn — and Bill Binney — and me — reinventing national intelligence in order to re-engineer America  the Beautiful  toward peace and prosperity the likes of which we have not seen, ever.

Mindful that 90% of those working in the intelligence discipline are good people trapped in bad systems, it must nevertheless be said that the US secret intelligence community is a cesspool of local waste and global hate — they spend their time blackmailing Members of Congress and doing unconstitutional things including mass surveillance and regime change along with drone assassination and rendition & torture.  They do not play well together (for example, NSA does not provide tactical SIGINT to clandestine operations abroad or counterintelligence operations at home).  As Bill Binney and I have agreed the President can and should dismantle up to 70% of each secret agency including CIA, and  then consolidate the remnants as new directorates within a revitalized CIA (while creating the Open Source Agency as the gold standard for doing most of the decision support with open sources while using Open Source Everything Engineering to lift America — and then the world — at 10-20% the cost of the failed Western economic model that is 50% waste and 90% profit for the banks.

I look forward to Mike Flynn's complete rehabilitation, and to seeing him return to the fight for the soul of America the Beautiful.
