CIA chiefs face arrest over horrific evidence of bloody ‘video-game' sorties by drone pilots

The Mail on Sunday today reveals shocking new evidence of the full horrific impact of US drone attacks in Pakistan.

A damning dossier assembled from exhaustive research into  the strikes’ targets sets out in heartbreaking detail the deaths of teachers, students and Pakistani policemen. It also describes how bereaved relatives are forced to gather their loved ones’ dismembered body parts in the aftermath of strikes.

The dossier has been assembled by human rights lawyer Shahzad Akbar, who works for Pakistan’s Foundation for Fundamental Rights and the British human rights charity Reprieve.

Filed in two separate court cases, it is set to trigger a formal murder investigation by police into the roles of two US officials said to have ordered the strikes. They are Jonathan Banks, former head of the Central Intelligence Agency’s Islamabad station, and John A. Rizzo, the CIA’s former chief lawyer. Mr Akbar and his staff have already gathered further testimony which has yet to be filed.

Phi Beta Iota:  The editors use Air Force  drone controller images and therefore mislead the viewer — our understanding is that the Air Force is controlling drones in Afghanistan, while CIA controls drones in Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan, and elsewhere.  This is all criminally insane at two levels: first, the precision intelligence is simply not there — the US Government is morally disengaged and operationally blind and all the lies in the world do not make this right.  Second, bankwidth is more expensive than pilots, and we are jamming ourselves.  At a force structure and sustainabilty/inter-operability level, as well as at a true cost level, drones are the most expensive military idiocy on the planet.  The CIA has no clue how to maintain operations security, so we will speculate here and now that the day will come when CIA chiefs are executed in the middle of the night in their homes by teams from the affected countries.  CIA is stupid about license plates — a single web cam can grab every CIA person entering the not so secret CIA training facilities, and three others can grab all license plates entering on duty at CIA HQS and more at other known CIA installations.  The Honorable David Patraeus certainly means well, but he is signing death warrants for CIA employees every day that he permits this criminal insanity to continue.  The ultimate asymmetric attack will be against CIA employees not associated with drones and not under cover, simply because they are easy to identify and then kill.  American diplomats should also expect to be targeted, and for the first time, their children are also at risk.  Reap what you sow.  This matter demands Presidential attention, and a complete change in how he is advised “on intelligence.”
