Phi Beta Iota:  While a variation of various other information pathologies, this term of art, “incestuous amplification,” will now be added to the below list.  It merits comment that in 1988 Col Mike Pheneger, USA, then J-2 of US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), exposed and complained officially about circular reporting and unattributed copying in Cuban orders of battle (OOB) and threat statements across the rather inept and unaccountable US civilian and military intelligence communities.
