US, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait backing Al-Qaeda in Syria

LAHORE – Sunni Supreme Council and Tanzim Ahle Sunnat chairman Javaid Ibrahim Paracha has claimed that the US, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are supporting Al-Qaeda in Syria and scores of Afghan Hindus have disguised as Taliban after growing beards.

In an interview with Nawa-i-Waqt’s Sunday magazine, Paracha, who has a pivotal role in govt-Taliban peace talks, said, “It was necessary that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, before leaving for the US, denies he doesn’t know me.”

He said that talks for the release of former premier Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son are underway with Taliban. “I have facilitated video-link contact between Mr. Gilani and his son who is in Taliban’s custody,” he added.

He further claimed that slain Salman Taseer’s wife and daughter visited him and asked for Shahbaz Taseer’s release, saying, “We have paid Rs100 million but could not even hear Shahbaz’s voice.” He said that former governor’s widow begged him to trace out her son. “I have received a picture of Shahbaz Taseer bearing bread and the people, who have provided the photograph, have asked me to bring money if abductee’s mother recognises her son,” he said claiming that he would arrange video-link contact between Shahbaz and his family till Eid.

To a query, Paracha said that he had spent thirteen month in a jail with Sufi Muhammad and Fazalullah. “The US caught me thrice and subject to torture,” he said adding, “Maulana Jalaluddin Haqani, Maulvi Younas Khalis, Maulana Nasrullah Mansoor and Maulana Muhammad Nabi got education from our religious seminary.”

He said that he had hosted almost 1,500 Arabs including Ahmed al-Zawari when they left Tora Bora. He said the US had offered him one million dollars to win him cooperation.

To another query, Paracha said that the elements, who are trying to sabotage the governmnet-Taliban peace talks, are very much strong. He said that Khalid Khawaja and Colonel Imam had gone to Miranshah to have a secret meeting with Mullah Umar.

A detailed interview of Paracha would be published on the twentieth of this month.
