A war the Pentagon doesn’t want

Robert H. Scales, a retired Army major general, is a former commandant of the U.S. Army War College.

Phi Beta Iota: Colin Powell betrayed every oath he ever took when he failed to confront Dick Cheney and the neo-cons over Iraq.  Powell was the one person that knew the truth and had the gravitas to walk out the door and call for the impeachment of Cheney and Rumsfeld. Shinseki failed in a lesser but still vital way.  Any flag officer who allows a civilian to lie to Congress and the public is committing treason.  We swear an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies domestic and foreign.  We do not swear an oath to blindly obey corrupt morons put into power by a two-party tyranny bought and paid for by the banks.  Loyalty to the White House is conditional on the White House being in compliance with the Constitution and the rule of law.
