Paul Craig Roberts

5.0 out of 5 stars Most Credible Consistent Truth-Teller I Read…., February 21, 2014

I have been following Paul Craig Roberts, a former Assistant Secretary of Treasury in the Reagan Administration, for years. Originally he specialized in economic commentary, and I was much taken with his hard-hitting critical commentary and particularly his illumination of the false statistics being released by the Bush and Obama Administrations with respect to unemployment and other major measuring rods of our Nation's health. He was the commentator that introduced me to shadowstats.com, which documents 22.4% unemployment at a time when the Obama Administration claims 7.5% more or less — never mind lies that are 300% removed from reality.

Paul Craig Roberts is non-partisan in his critical commentary. I consider him a patriot with a brain, a capable author, and a voice much needed within all political circles, and most particularly within the Republican Party which is now at war with itself as the real common-sense conservatives recognize that the GOP has been hijacked by Zionists, Evangelicals, and other nut-cases who are all about personal privilege (including pedophilia) and personal profit and both personal and institutional power while disregarding the Constitution and betraying the Republic.

Since I have been following him, many of these superb commentaries are already familiar to me, but since I have read most of the thousands of commentaries he has written, I can also attest to these 135 or so, covering the period from 2008 to today, as being among the best.

The collection is dedicated to the whistleblowers of our time, both those that broke the law to blow the whistle (Snowden and Manning) and those that did not (Drake and Binney, among others). What this book boils down to is three hard facts:

01 We the People have a right to the truth and the truth is not to be found in America today, at least not from our own government or the mainstream media.

02 We have become a police state at home and a predatory power abroad, imposing over one million injuries on our own troops and hundreds of thousands of deaths on others, as well as trillions of dollars in cost to the American taxpayer and others.

03 QUOTE (17): “Washington does not represent the American people. Washington represents about six powerful private interest groups.”

Of particular interest to me as a professional intelligence officer are the author's varied examinations of 9/11 and the alleged capture and death of Bin Laden in 2011. I heartily endorse the author's various reflections on the lies that Dick Cheney and others have told about 9/11, as well as all the policy decisions made in the aftermath of 9/11. As we now know, Dick Cheney led the telling of 935 since-documented lies in taking us to war against Iraq and in Afghanistan — wars we lost with no generals or admirals being held accountable. Wars that enriched Halliburton and other contractors at the expense of the average American. I consider Dick Cheney (and Colin Powell who refused to honor his Oath to defend the Constitution) to be traitors. I also believe in Truth and Reconciliation and hope the day comes when those two individuals, and others, are moved to confess to the public what they knew when, and why they acted as they did. Everythng the author writes about 9/11 and the wars justified by 9/11, is solid meat for those who wish to be informed engaged citizens.

On Bin Laden, I am certain that Bin Laden died in 2001, something then Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Steve Pieczenik is on record as stating – he has proof that Bin Laden died in 2001 (and this book contains the published obituary notice from that year) and that Dick Cheney orchestrated the 9/11 events to create a false Pearl Harbor. I am certain that the Bin Laden killed in Pakistan was a patsy, and that CIA lied to the Joint Special Operations Command — this was a political event, a false event, that not only killed US troops being mis-used for political theater, but also once again put the White House in the forefront of lies to the public.

By coincidence, I also read this past week a book by Danny Sheehan, a devout Catholic and equally devout Democrat. The People's Advocate: The Life and Legal History of America's Most Fearless Public Interest Lawyer. There is zero separation between these two icons of the RIGHT and the LEFT. They both come together in defense of the Constitution and the sovereignty of the public that has been over-turned by a two-party tyranny (the term originated with Theresa Amato in Grand Illusion: The Myth of Voter Choice in a Two-Party Tyranny. I hope readers of this review will also read my review with quotes of Danny Sheehan's book, both books are about the US Government no longer representing We the People.

I want to end with two quotes from the end of the book, and also salute the first reviewer. I realize many do not have the time or money to read all the books they wish to read, so I write summary reviews and I always applaud and vote for other reviewers that do the same.

QUOTE (448): “Among the democratic countries in the world, only the president of the United States proclaims he has the right to murder citizens without the process of law, without charges presented to a court, without trial and conviction for a capital offense. Only the president of the United States claims the legal right to infefinitely imprison citizens without cause being presented to a court and conviction obtained in a court.”

QUOTE (449): “The Bush and Obama regimes have committed crimes against numerous peoples and laws comparable to those committed by members of Germany's National Socialist government who were executed for their crimes.”

I agree with the author on all points of substance. I believe that other governments should bring all possible cases against the US Government in the World Court and against individuals before the International Tribunal. I believe that We the People are now finally sufficiently informed so that if we do not rise up and replace the two-party tyranny that fronts for the banks and the criminal networks led by former presidents, then we should be held accountable. Ignorance is no longer a defense. This is on us.
