Most mainstream media coverage so far indicates the propaganda campaign by US media blaming Russia is in full swing, hence reports referred to below will get little or no airplay:

“Ukrainian government, Russia, and Donetsk People's Republic all deny shooting down Malaysian Airlines flight 17 over eastern Ukraine. But there is no word from Kolomoisky's Army led by Ukrainan-Israeli billionaire oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky. Kolomoisky has funded his own army in eastern Ukraine with massive weapons purchases and fascist mercenaries. The Buk missile system used to shoot down MH-17 is in Ukrainian stocks and has been sold by Kiev to Georgia. Media propaganda alert over charges that Ukraine does not possess Buk system. Donetsk Republic also says it has no missile system capable of hitting a plane at 33,000 feet. The truth: Kolomoisky, who takes his orders from Tel Aviv, pulled this attack off to divert attention from Israel's Gaza genocide and try to put blame on Russia. Israel and its sayanim are masters of false flag attacks.”

“A Ukrainian army battalion of Buk air defense systems was deployed near the city of Donetsk a day before the crash of a Malaysian passenger plane on Thursday, making the downing of the aircraft by one of the missiles highly probable, an expert source said.”

“Anton Gerashenko, an adviser to Ukraine’s interior minister, said on his Facebook page the plane was flying at an altitude of 10,000 meters (33,000 feet) when it was hit by a missile from a Buk launcher, which can fire up to an altitude of 22,000 meters (72,000 feet). Ukraine’s government didn’t say how it knew those details.  Igor Sutyagin, a research fellow in Russian studies at the Royal United Services Institute, said both Ukrainian and Russian forces have SA-17 missile systems – also known as Buk ground-to-air launcher systems. He said Russia had supplied separatist rebels with military hardware, but he had seen no evidence “of the transfer of that type of system from Russia.”
