Phi Beta Iota: Extraordinary possibilities are emerging and include Apple's new commitment to building their own high-speed network. Where both endeavors (SpaceX and Apple) are likely to fall short is in their lack of appreciation for the cost-benefit role that could be played by the nine Open Source Everything sub-categories.  SpaceX is merely distracted, Apple is culturally inbred. In addition, both may be unaware of the importance of dark fibre and having all ground facilities off the grid (water as well as power) as an added operational standard.
