Coleen Rowley: Another Illegal War is Insane

Bush really lied when he claimed “we'll fight them over there so we don't have to fight them here.” The wars have only produced more death and destruction, failed states, hatred and terrorism worldwide which has not only destroyed large parts of the Middle East (much of which, before US-NATO intervention, was previously secular and opposed to radical Saudi Arabian-Al Qaeda-ISIS style terrorism) but terrorism that is now beginning to reach Europe and Russia. I warned, long ago, that Bush's launching the illegal war on Iraq would prove counterproductive.  A recipe for disaster, the longest war in US history just keeps enlarging its war zone.  It cannot be long before the US suffers attacks like those in Paris, Beirut, Baghdad and which apparently blew up the Russian airliner.

Certainly the “war on terror” is a good business model for war profiteers as it keeps ratcheting up its own supply and demand. “A poor man's war is terrorism while a rich man's terrorism is war.”  Mere flip sides of each other, with each bound to ratchet up the other.  War simply doesn't work to produce democracy, human rights, peace, love or happiness!

“You can no more win a war than you can win an earthquake” explained first American Congresswoman Jeannette Rankin. It's indeed sad that so many residents of the US-NATO-Israel Empire, driven by the incessant fear-hate-greed-false pride-blind loyalty propaganda, do not understand that continuing to let their “leaders” play at war only lays the seeds for more world-wide misery, including their own!

Does anyone remember the days when we Americans hated the French and our Congress renamed their “french fries” to “Freedom Fries” simply because the French President Chirac would not do what the US wanted him to do? Which was to put aside his brain and morality to join the US “Coalition of the Willing” to launch illegal “shock and awe” bombing of Iraq? A war that killed over a million innocent Iraqi women, children and other civilians as well as a few thousand American and UK soldiers. It might be time to admit that Chirac was right! .

So instead of all the emotional French flag waving intended to further manipulate all of us into supporting more war and more arms sales, maybe we should put up French flags that say “Chirac was right!”

The terrible results of launching illegal wars were always foreseeable.  Reckless drone assassination, reckless kidnappings, imprisonment and torture, as well as the reckless arming of rebel and terrorist groups going all the way back to at least Charley Wilson's War in addition to the  reckless arming of Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, etc. all part of what the elite foreign policy and military strategists think of as a “game” on their 3D “global chessboard.” Reckless–some would say unconscious–intent is what most of the global chessboard players exhibit in my opinion. Their fun game of divide and conquer in the pursuit of “full spectrum dominance” and their profiting from this game depends upon inordinate and excessive hubris since no one–certainly not the ridiculously stupid and corrupt Petraeus types–who had to get others to even write his school papers –are competent to play.
