Iran says it sealed Boeing plane deal at half price

DUBAI (Reuters) – Iran said on Sunday it had negotiated to pay only about half the announced price for 80 new Boeing airliners in an order that the American planemaker had said was worth $16.6 billion.

Phi Beta Iota: Donald Trump's instincts (and integrity) are on target — the only reason Boeing gets $4B for a presidential aircraft is because Congress is corrupt to the bone as is the DoD acquisition system. Government specifications cost plus, combined with the standard 5% kick-back from Boeing to the Members assuring that no one questions this criminal insanity, is how we get there. Iran is telling Donald Trump that he can and should cut the DoD budget by 50% while still achieving his robust goals for US national security. We agree. DoD is dysfunctional and 50% waste. The Services are out of control. We cannot win wars and we do not wage peace.
