The Pope's Turnaround on Sex Abuse May Have a ‘Tsunami Effect’

Pope Francis’s efforts to repair the situation in Chile are only just beginning, and these and other cases may yet challenge his papacy. But Cruz, in his interview with El País, was optimistic. “This is having a tsunami effect,” he said. “We have the Chilean precedent, and it will happen in other countries.”

Phi Beta Iota: The Most Holy Father is at a turning point. Some say Pope Benedict was forced to resign and Pope Francis was appointed to cleanse the Church. Others are now saying that he is considering resignation and leaving the mess to the next Pope — at this rate the Vatican is going to need a dedicated retirement home just for Popes. Francis appears to have been fully complicit with the abuse of children, not only by priests, but by Satanists and elites known to him across his decades of access to the highest circles. He does appear to have enormous potential toward Truth & Reconciliation. We pray he serves.
