Mapping the Open-Source Publishing Landscape

More than 50 open-source publishing tools have been cataloged in a new landscape analysis funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation secured by MIT Press.

The “Mind the Gap” report, published Wednesday, describes the wide range of open-source publishing tools available for academic books and journals.

ROBERT STEELE: The next big deal is going to be China going all in on Open Source Everything Engineering (OSEE). I have been invited to speak in China to this topic, China is the only country that has the top down leadership and all-ranks discipline to create the post-Western economy using OSEE within 20 years — this will — quite incidentally — address all seventeen of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) within the same 20 years.  I would rather help America First but it has not been possible to get our Presidenet's attention, he appears too pre-occupied with Israel First matters including the trashing of the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Amendments of the US Constitution. Huawei's “Harmony” will be severely flawed at first but will improve and scale and combined with Alibaba, OSEE, and a few other pieces, bury Amazon, Facebook, Google, MeetUp, Twitter, and YouTube within ten years.  I'd like to help do that sooner than later. Look for China to crack the real time voice and text translation barrier so that every Huawei device becomes a virtual “any language to any language” communications device.
