ROBERT STEELE: Speaking to an Iranian media leader, he observed that there is some regret in Iran over the above story, because at a deeper level there should be no apology for an event that pales in comparison — with no deaths — to the quarter century of secret police and hundreds of thousands jailed, tortured, and killed at the hands of the Shah who was illegitimately re-instated by the CIA and other Western forces. He has a point. Never-the-less, this is an overture and it should be treated as such.
