Gary Hart: Billion-dollar Clinton campaign should ‘frighten' Americans
The two-time Democratic presidential candidate is alarmed by current ‘dynastic’ politics.
The prospect of a billion-dollar Clinton campaign “ought to frighten every American,” he said in an interview with POLITICO, and Democrats would be better served by a competitive primary that forced her to speak in more depth about the issues.
Phi Beta Iota: Dynastic politics is the lowest possible point for a two-party tyranny and — if the US public were not so apathetic and the small parties so self-centered — an opportunity. Absent a precipitating event or a convergence of a few great leaders — Gary Hart, Jesse Ventura, Ralph Nader, Cynthia McKinny, Jill Stein would be a good start — we see no prospects for the healing of the USA in the near term.
