Phi Beta Iota: If national intelligence budget is added (no less than $60B but probably closer to $100B is off-budget and non-defense contributions are added), comes closer to one trillion a year — which is what we borrow for a US federal budget of $3 trillion a year, one half of which is documented waste. Hence, eliminating the waste would not just eliminate the need to borrow one trillion a year, it would produce a $500 billion a year surplus.
