Palantir Technologies: The Winding Down of DCGS and the Winding Up of Old School Intelware Vendors
If you recognize the acronym “DCGS”, you probably know that the Tolkien-infused intelware vendor Palantir Technologies has captured the $800 million contract for the US Army’s “new” intelligence system. If not, you won’t care.
According to “Palantir Wins Competition to Build Army Intelligence System,”:
Phi Beta Iota: Reading between the lines, Palantir and Amazon have formed a partnership to “own” US defense intelligence and eventually all US Government data processing. It will be financially successful, and further undermine the integrity, intelligence, and imagination of defense specially and the government generally. These are not people who understand holistic analytics and true cost economics and strategic acquisition generalizations (e.g. hot aviation days, bridge loading limits, line of sight distances).
