U.S. right wing extremists more deadly than jihadists?
In fact, since 9/11 extremists affiliated with a variety of far-right wing ideologies, including white supremacists, anti-abortion extremists and anti-government militants, have killed more people in the United States than have extremists motivated by al Qaeda's ideology. According to a count by the New America Foundation, right wing extremists have killed 34 people in the United States for political reasons since 9/11. (The total includes the latest shootings in Kansas, which are being classified as a hate crime).
By contrast, terrorists motivated by al Qaeda's ideology have killed 23 people in the United States since 9/11.
Phi Beta Iota: We are losing patience with the idiocy of the US media, US think tanks, and all others who have the temerity to comment on anything without actually doing holistic analytics and true cost economics. COPS kill more people outside due process across the USA than any combination of alleged “terrorists.” Arrest-related alone in 2012 was 48. More people are murdered for political and while collar financial reasons — included those “suicided” to silence them — than any combination of “hits” by organized crime. Then you have all the people killed by medical malpractice including toxic pharmaceuticals, those killed by the opportunity cost of suppressing natural cures (e.g. banana oil and vitamin b for breast cancer), and of course those killed by the massive outpouring of toxins associated with a carbon and chlorine-based economy. The media — and the think tanks — are despicably irresponsible. They excel at their assigned task — keeping morons pre-occupied.
