ROBERT STEELE: Elective wars based on lies lead to mass illegal immigration. From Viet-Nam to Iraq to Syria this is a fact of life. I realize our intelligence “leaders” are gerbils on a wheel (Madeline Albright coined the phrase) anxious to not diminish their post-retirement job prospects in the military-intelligence-industrial complex, but I do wonder at what point they might become as sick as heart as I have been for 20 years, watching what Lee Camp famously described on Fox News as the continuing “festival of ignorance” to which Matt Taibbi would add “Griftopia” and Chris Hedges “Empire of Illusion.” We are sick — comatose and close to dead — as a nation. This need not be so. Intelligence with integrity is central to getting a grip, but I do confess to realizing, aided by Tom Steyer, that electoral reform is root. Intelligence “leaders” today are in appeasement mode, struggling to “go along to get along” with a very corrupt two-party tyranny that has zero interest in the addressing the public interest — only in how much political profit can be derived from the 1% at the expense of the 99% before the public riots. Illegal orders are unconstitutional. Obeying illegal orders is unconstitutional. Standing by passively while foreign powers manipulate the US Government into treason is unconstitutional. Standing by passively while financial and ideological traitors manipulate the US Government against the public interest is unconstitutional. At what point will our senior civil servants recognize their Oaths to defend and protect the Constitution against all enemies domestic and foreign? This is evidently not a question that is on their minds.
