Bush was just an appetizer — Trump would be the main course

Rove correctly guessed that a generation of watching TV and Hollywood movies left huge blocs of Americans convinced that people who read books, looked at paintings and cared about spelling were either serial killers or scheming to steal bearer bonds from the Nakatomi building. (Even knowing what a bearer bond is was villainous). The hero in American culture, meanwhile, was always a moron with a big gun who learned everything he needed to know from cowboy movies.
Phi Beta Iota: Matt Taibbi is brilliant but takes liberties with this account. George W. Bush was unquestionably a well-intentioned dolt, and Donald Trump, while skilled at vulgarity, is absolutely not the same deal — this is a man who has learned how to be vulgar for effect and it is working. There were huge armies working to put Bush Junior into office, in Trump's case there is exactly one man and one fortune — not the same thing at all. Finally, Bush Junior was a front for Dick Cheney, the true evil genuis who hijacked the White House, staged a coup, and led all us to war on the basis of 925 lies capping his personal management of 9/11 as the greatest domestic crime of a government against its people, in modern history. Trump's problem is the opposite — he cannot get out of his own way and will not delegate. People who challenge him are fired, so he will neither attract nor retain the best and the brightest. In the next 30 days he needs to form a government, at least at the staff level, and be able to intelligently explain how he plans to propose to the Congress and the public — not “decide” by executive mandate — our national approach to the ten high level threats, twelve core policies, and eight demographic challengers. There is no one working for him who comprehends the below matrix of the chapter that follows it.
