The documents have some laudable “ends” and some “ways” that may or may not be appropriate (suitable, feasible, acceptable, etc.). What did not appear to be present were the “means” to be employed.

Phi Beta Iota: There are no facts in the fact sheet, and the depiction of “national security” is retarded. These documents are unprofessional political theater devoid from the FACT that the US military today consumes 60% of the disposable budget while being unable to win wars because DoD is 45-75% waste within service budget share arrangements that are divorced from reality, requirements, relevance, or accountability for performance. The offering fails to understand that the militarization of the police through the drug war has failed and turned a majority of the public into skeptics of the police. Immigration is easily solved by demanding 100% compliance by employers and landlords with e-verify (under Barack Obama the compliance rate is 10% and it is not enforced — everyone skates). These documents are a perfect representation of what you get with a two-party tyranny where politicians can public crap and not be held accountable by the media, think tanks, universities, or citizen activist groups. The level of ignorance as well as false statements within our national “dialog” are reprehensible.
National Security, as with National Competitiveness, is about everything always and the two cannot be divorced. Ron Paul is among those on the right that “get” this. Here is a simple graphic that reflects the wisdom of, among others, LtGen Dr. Brent Scowcroft, USAF (Ret), then the US member of the UN High Level Panel on Threats, Challenges, and Change. The House Republicans are ignoring eight of the ten high-level threats to the USA, and do not have a clue with respect to how we must restructure our spending to achieve a formidable home-based military (450 ship Navy, long-haul Air Force, air-mobile Army, Open Source (Technologies) Agency as the centerpiece of a massive new global development effort focused on keeping illegal immigrants home while providing an exit strategy for dictators), while shifting the 50% in savings to job creation at home.
