PENTAGON AUDIT: “THERE WILL BE UNPLEASANT SURPRISES”
For the first time in its history, the Department of Defense is now undergoing a financial audit.
The audit, announced last December, is itself a major undertaking that is expected to cost $367 million and to involve some 1200 auditors. The results are to be reported in November 2018.

Phi Beta Iota: It is highly unlikely that the audit will cover the secret space program or the secret underground capabilities program, but it is certainly a good start long over-due. If done properly, the audit should document that DoD is 50% waste, that most overseas bases can be closed, and that we are not spending enough on ground troops — 4% of the force taking 80% of the casualities receives only 1% of the total Pentagon budget.
