Russia has thrown down a gauntlet that is not limited to Crimea or even Ukraine.
Phi Beta Iota: Dr. Gates is — as is his custom — dishonest by omission. The article is an excellent overview of Putin's perspective and prospective — Gates has always been a good analyst — but neglects to mention the two signal facts. Fact One: The West violated its agreement with Russia to not expand NATO eastward. Fact Two: The Neo-Cons, Soros, and Wall Street, along with the secret or “deep state” side of the USG — and Harvard's pseudo-economists — broke the Russian economy. The world is coming back into balance across all the domains — political-military, socio-economic, ideo-cultural, techno-demographic, and natural-geographic. In that process, the USA will collapse internationally (de-Americanization) and — we pray – find resilience at the state and local levels.
