Phi Beta Iota: Although this is somewhat over-hyped (New Zealand is a phenomenal place to live in its own right), there is a small canary breathing hard here.  What is so sad about all this is the waste, the idiocy,  the lack of necessity. If we had intelligence with integrity in the US Government, we would be using open source decision-support to create a prosperous world at peace, while using ruthless counterintelligence to eradicate religious, financial, and ideological traitors (most of whom desperately need re-education, not incarceration). Democracy is hard; being honest is hard; caring for other people is hard.  It's also righteous, and even fractional success is vastly preferable to what we have now: the prostitution of every politician and senior executive to a system that is toxic to its constituents and toxic to the world at large. The GOOD NEWS is that we are a hair away from a non-violent revolution in the USA: #ElectoralReform.
