ROBERT DAVID STEELE: Lee Iacocca wrote a fine book, Where have all the leaders gone? and the sadness is that we don't produce leaders any more, only apparatchiks skilled at legalized crime.  I was thinking yesterday that the next big leap is ethical from the agricultural era to the industrial era to the information era to the ethical era. The Club of Rome made a mistake. The competing proposal was as you have suggested, education and bottom up intelligence. Limits to Growth is a top down “we can control this” approach. Not sure where the blockchain technology is going, but protecting the provenance of information — assuring the integrity of information — will surely be central and hence demand a decentralized approach that ends the corruption associated with hierarchies and delegated authorities too easily abused.

ROBERT JAMES BECKET: Agreed…good insight…see below a paragraph from Science Citizens my text…unfortunately it's missing the graphics and visualisation req'd to power it as an educational resource… it's part of the logic i have spoken about…the concepts are in fact the basis of communication…not words but concepts or unified meaning…rb

1.2.3 The ages

Another way to conceive human development is through the model of the ages. Famously Robert Graves examined the era of the White Goddess (1948), where he describes an era of priestesses and worship of the feminine that existed before the ‘phallo-centric’ death cults of the Christians the Jews and the Muslims took hold. These eras were to some degree formative of the era of the ‘logo’ whereby the power of words (logos) and the priestly cast responsible for the discipline of these words, were eventually overtaken by the era of technology ‘techno’ resulting from the industrial revolution at least in the West. In the technological move from electrification to the age of the computer, the age of information (info) was born, some seventy years ago. However, unbeknown to most global citizens the power of information is twofold. The increase in the capacity to process information actually increases the requirement for the integrity of that processing task and in the era of information, which we still inhabit; the age of virtue was born.  The virtual era is actually the era of virtue.
