DAVID HARVEY (born in Gillingham, Kent, England) is a Distinguished Professor at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY), Director of THE CENTER FOR PLACE, CULTURE AND POLITICS and author of numerous books, including SOCIAL JUSTICE AND THE CITY, THE CONDITION OF POSTMODERNITY, THE LIMITS TO CAPITAL, A BRIEF HISTORY OF NEOLIBERALISM, SPACES OF HOPE, A COMPANION TO MARX´S CAPITA, THE ENIGMA OF CAPITAL and REBEL CITIES.  Widely influential, he is among the top 20 most cited authors in the humanities, and his books and essays have been prominent in the development of modern geography as a discipline.
