Tuesday, March 5, 2013 For BBC Television, Palast met several times with Hugo Chàvez, who passed away today.
As a purgative for the crappola fed to Americans about Chavez, my foundation, The Palast Investigative Fund, is offering the film, The Assassination of Hugo Chavez, as a FREE download. Based on my several meetings with Chavez, his kidnappers and his would-be assassins, filmed for BBC Television. DVDs also available.
Media may contact Palast at interviews (at) gregpalast.com.
Venezuelan President Chavez once asked me why the US elite wanted to kill him. My dear Hugo: It’s the oil. And it’s the Koch Brothers – and it’s the ketchup.
Phi Beta Iota: We downloaded the film, free, and it is quite engrossing. After clicking for the free download, check email and click to confirm and get download. No donation is required. Recommended. We had no idea that Chavez had offered the USA oil for the long term at $50 a barrel. This terrified the major oil companies and the US Government was not allowed to accept this offer. There are those that suspect Chavez was radiated to cause the cancer — be that as it may, the bottom line of the film is that Chavez planned for his assassination, and has left in place a structure that will live on. We have no doubt CIA and DIA are stumbling over each other (with two DIA officers just thrown out of Venezuela) while the real non-official cover officers of the dual chain of command make promises they will not keep and offer bribes they can easily afford, to destabilize Venezuela. Obama never read Open Veins of Latin America — he should have. It remains the one country that could finance the resurrection of the Americas as a prosperous region at peace.
