Catholic Archbishop Says Pedophilia Is ‘Spiritual Encounter With God’
Archbishop Hart . . . insisted that sexual abuse was “a spiritual encounter with God through the priest” and was “of a higher order” than criminal law.
As the law currently stands, clergy are not legally obliged to report crimes to the police and disciplinary proceedings for criminal activity by members of the Catholic Church are handled internally by Canon law, which operates independently of the regular legal procedure.
ROBERT STEELE: While the Catholic Church is just one of many global institutions that has an active pedophile population of perhaps 10% (and a murderous pedophile population that I estimate is on the order of 2% of all priests up to and including the Pope), it now enjoys diplomatic immunity (a priceless asset for the smuggling of gold, guns, drugs, cash, and small children). I believe as a starting point all government should end diplomatic immunity for the Vatican, and also end all exemptions of religious organizations with respect to criminal prosecution.
