Worth a Look/Event: The Future is Asian – Parag Khanna

Parag Khanna, the author of the most extraordinary book on how China has already defeated the USA and Russia strategically (Connectography: Mapping the Future of Global Civilization) has done it again. His new book will be reviewed here shortly.  In his own words:

Asia is the world's most strategic region, and our policies are either backfiring (such as the trade war), leading to our being bypassed (such as the failure to join the TPP trade agreement), or overly China-centric at a time when more than 3 billion other Asians represent the region's next growth wave capable of restoring Asia's natural multipolarity. This and much else are among the arguments and lessons I present in The Future is Asian.

He will be in Washington, D.C. on the 26th & 27th of February (book comes out 5 February, pre-order now by clicking on the cover).

From Publishers Weekly

This disturbing, sharply rendered account tells how the post-Communist Russian Mafiya has infiltrated American life with tactical intelligence and a rare level of viciousness. Drawing from interviews with top Russian mobsters and police, journalist Friedman (Zealots for Zion: Inside Israel's West Bank Settlement Movement) trenchantly explores the brutal corruption of the U.S.S.R. and the anarchic greed that has flourished since its collapse, incubating a “criminal colossus that has surpassed the Colombian cartels, the Japanese Yakuzas, the Chinese triads and the Italian Mafia in wealth and weaponry.” Friedman, whose reporting on this subject has appeared in Vanity Fair, the Village Voice and other publications, writes of one wise guy responsible for 100 hits and of “Tarzan”Dthe swaggering Miami mobster busted while attempting to tender a Russian submarine to Colombian drug lords. Friedman documents how the mobsters have imported their brand of terror tacticsDshakedowns, kidnappings, bombings and public assassination.

Below the line: senior intelligence officer on what is not in the book.

Worth a Look: Stalking the Viet Cong Inside Operation Phoenix A Personal Account

Stu Herrington

Originally published as Silence Was A Weapon: The Vietnam War In the Villages (1982)

In a gripping memoir that reads like a spy novel, one man recounts his personal experience with Operation Phoenix, the program created to destroy the Vietcong’s shadow government, which thrived in the rural communities of South Vietnam.

Stuart A. Herrington was an American intelligence advisor assigned to root out the enemy in the Hau Nghia province. His two-year mission to capture or kill Communist agents operating there was made all the more difficult by local officials who were reluctant to cooperate, villagers who were too scared to talk, and VC who would not go down without a fight. Herrington developed an unexpected but intense identification with the villagers in his jurisdiction–and learned the hard way that experiencing war was profoundly different from philosophizing about it in a seminar room.

Worth a Look: Disappearing Palestinians

This book claims that Palestine is fast disappearing and fulfilling the objectives of Israel's founding fathers. Over many decades, Israel has developed and refined policies to disperse, imprison and impoverish the Palestinian people, in a relentless effort to destroy them as a nation. It has industrialized Palestinian despair through ever more sophisticated systems of curfews, checkpoints, walls, permits and land grabs. Cook analyzes how Israel has transformed the West Bank and Gaza into laboratories for testing the infrastructure of confinement, creating a lucrative “defense” industry by pioneering the technologies needed for urban warfare, crowd control and collective punishment.

This book is a fictional representation of true events in which names, initials, and situations have been changed to secure safety for my loved ones, professionals who have helped me at great risk, and myself.
This is the story of American corporate and governmental life today, thanks to the Cold War that spawned the CIA Operation Paperclip and MK-Ultra mind control programs.

Even the secret space program now in operation began with Nazi physics and mind control. Because all of this has been cloaked for over a half century in “national security,” the American public is oblivious to the existence of the evils now embedded in the very structure of its institutions and government agencies, like the post-9/11 Department of Homeland Security.

It is long past time to awaken the public to what victims like myself are undergoing every day and night of the week at work and at home.

Worth a Look: The Day Amazon Murdered History and Banned Books with Capricious Abandon

Phi Beta Iota: Amazon is indeed banning many books (as well as reviews and entire reviewer channels), not only on the Holocaust but on Sandy Hook and other US Government atrocities, but it's more  complicated than that.  To make the point, note that this book is sold by Amazon.

By Germar Rudolf – Amazon is the world’s biggest book retailer. It rakes in some 50% of all consumer spending on books in the U.S. and dominates several foreign markets as well. Pursuant to the 1998 declaration of Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos to offer “the good, the bad and the ugly,” customers once could buy every book that was in print and was legal to sell.

That changed on March 6, 2017, when Amazon banned more than 100 books with dissenting viewpoints on the Holocaust, after having been pressured by Jewish lobby groups for years to do so.
