Electoral Reform: Converging the Tribes to Achieve Extreme Democracy
This proposal is rooted in both practical experience as a member of the Occupy Working Group on Electoral Reform followed by a brief run for the US presidency, accepted by the Reform Party at a candidate, both in 2011; and in broad reading as the top Amazon reviewer for non-fiction reading in 98 categories, many relevant to the obstacles to and possibilities of achieving extreme democracy. I have also published multiple articles and three Amazon Kindle books that have been highly-rated in the Civics category, but I have not had a global-level intervention reaching a global crowd across all boundaries.

• The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are not achievable using the prevailing paradigm of donors, intermediaries, and industrial-era proprietary technologies and costs.
• The SDG goals can be achieved at a one-time cost per person of $500 if the United Nations (UN) will embrace Open Source Everything Engineering (OSEE) as the central method.
• OSEE includes nine major categories – four are known to the UN (Open Data, Open Decision-Support, Open Governance, Open Software), five are largely ignored and their potential not understood (Open Health, Open Infrastructure, Open Manufacturing, Open Provisioning, Open Space).
• An Open Source (Technologies) Agency funded at $2 billion a year by the USA, has been proposed to Vice President Joe Biden and pre-approved in principle by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) contingent on VP request or Secretary of Defense (SecDef) approval as part of the D3 Innovation Initiative (D3: defense, diplomacy, development).
• A direct inquiry from and engagement by the Secretary General in the very near term could yield an advance on SDG accomplishment unimagined by anyone else. All the Secretary General has to do is ask.

Veteran journalist David Talbot, founder and former editor-in-chief of Salon, doesn’t skim over the surfaces of things. . . . Talbot’s new book, The Devil’s Chessboard: Allen Dulles, the CIA, and the Rise of America’s Secret Government, is equally essential reading, especially for readers with even a passing interest in post-WW2 U.S. foreign policy. The longest running director of the CIA (1952-1961), Dulles helped coordinate extremely bloody coups throughout the world. Not surprisingly, he comes off as a nasty piece of work.

The strategic importance of diamonds became acutely clear to both the Allies and Axis powers with the approach of the Second World War in 1939. Only diamonds were hard enough to stamp out the millions of precision parts that were necessary for mass-producing airplane engines, torpedoes, tanks, artillery and the other weapons of war. Only diamonds could be used to draw the fine wire needed for radar and the electronics of war. Only diamonds could provide the jeweled bearings necessary for the stabilizers, gyroscopes and guidance systems for submarines and planes. Only diamonds could provide the abrasives necessary for rapidly converting civilian industries into a war machine. Without a continuing supply of diamonds, the war machine would rapidly slow to a halt. Yet, nearly all the diamond mines remained closed, and De Beers controlled the world supply of diamonds. Obtaining these industrial diamonds thus became a paramount objective for both the United States and Hitler's Germany. Read full chapter.

The primary ‘Anonymous’ account behind the hacktivist collective’s “Operation ISIS” is claiming to have stopped a terrorist attack in Italy. And after it was revealed that ISIS is being aided and supported by Turkey, Anonymous launched a massive attack against the NATO country last week. In an extensive DDoS attack, the group took down some 40,000 Turkish servers.
