UN food summit ends with ‘crumbs' in hunger fight

ROME — The head of a U.N. food agency expressed regret Wednesday that an anti-hunger summit failed to result in precise promises of funding, and critics said the meeting had only thrown crumbs to the world's 1 billion people without enough to eat.
Phi Beta Iota: This is not a surprise. The United Nations is a “dumb” organization whose Member nations have refused to implement the Brahimi Report recommendations with respect to decision-support, and whose internal leaders are timid (and lack knowledge) about creating virtual information support networks. In an era of complexity where most of our problems are self-created, top down anything DOES NOT WORK. Only Epoch B bottom-up works, and that requires multinational, multifunctional information-sharing at the neighborhood level of granularity.
