The below two headlines should give the 1% great pause.
ISIS: Western Journalist Embedded With Group Says He Came Into Contact With Americans
While I personally believe that the ISIS threat is severely over-stated at this time, the potential of lone wolf attacks spreading across Europe and into the USA cannot be over-stated. I embrace Ralph Peters' hard views (below the line) in the event the governments of the USA and Saudi Arabia continue to be corrupt and inept and allow this plague to spread while also rejecting the necessary remediation measures (instead of 1% – 99% we need to get to 20% – 80%).
Ralph Peters nailed it in his 1995 piece for Parameters, After the Revolution — the only path to wealth, women, and wine for the persistently unemployed is at the point of a gun. I have been forecasting revolutionary preconditions for over 40 years, and never seen it worse. The actual unemployment rate in the USA is 22.4% — not far from the 25% characteristic of Spain and other major countries, and must less than is the case in Somalia, Yemen, and other emerging hot spots.
Also by Ralph are his 1994 The New Warrior Class (also in Parameters), and When Devils Walk the Earth: The Mentality and Roots of Terrorism, and How to Respond (Center for Emerging Threats and Opportunities, 2001).
There are two revolutions brewing — one is non-violent (electoral reform and digital empowerment of the public) the other is violent. This post focuses on the second. The rest of this website focuses on the first.
