CIA fooled in massive counterintelligence failure, former officer writes

Bill Gertz, Washington Free Beacon

The CIA was fooled by scores of double agents pretending to be working for the agency but secretly loyal to communist spy agencies during the Cold War and beyond, according to a former CIA analyst, operations officer, and historian. The large-scale deception included nearly 100 fake CIA recruits in East Germany, Cuba, as well as the Soviet Union (and later Russia) who supplied false intelligence that was passed on to senior U.S. policymakers for decades.

Electoral Reform: Converging the Tribes to Achieve Extreme Democracy

This proposal is rooted in both practical experience as a member of the Occupy Working Group on Electoral Reform followed by a brief run for the US presidency, accepted by the Reform Party at a candidate, both in 2011; and in broad reading as the top Amazon reviewer for non-fiction reading in 98 categories, many relevant to the obstacles to and possibilities of achieving extreme democracy. I have also published multiple articles and three Amazon Kindle books that have been highly-rated in the Civics category, but I have not had a global-level intervention reaching a global crowd across all boundaries.

Worth a Look: Tamera – School and Research Station for a Future without War — a Realistic Utopia

TameraLogo-300x80Tamera is a School and Research Station for Realistic Utopia

The project was founded in Germany in 1978. In 1995 it moved to Portugal. Today 170 people live and work on a property of 330 acres. The founding thought was to develop a non-violent life model for cooperation between human being, animal and nature. Soon it became clear that the healing of love and of human community had to be placed at the center of this work. Sexuality, love and partnership need to be freed from lying and fear, for there can be no peace on Earth as long as there is war in love. The ecological and technological research of Tamera includes the implementation of a retention landscape for the healing of water and nature, as well as a model for regional autonomy in energy and food. Through the Global Campus and the Terra Nova School we are working within a global network on the social, ecological and ethical foundations for a new Earth – Terra Nova.

No words can express the sadness we all felt after the attacks that targeted France on 13 November. Facing the irreparable, and more than ever, the strategic vacuum the question arises. I am pleased to participate in a conference whose objective is to encourage the study and practice of the strategy, as part of this collective initiative that was the Encyclopedia of strategy.

A strategic vacuum is a situation where the economic models, societal, “strategic” cease to provide relevant answers to a crisis involving the sustainability of a company, of a political, economic or military. It is, in mirror, a window of opportunity for those who exploit the lack of direction, the confusion of beliefs, the vulnerability of a social or economic fabric prey to superstitious beliefs, or dismayed by the repetition of peoples empty.

Marcus Aurelius: Do Americans Want a Military Coup?

U.S. Military is not interested and won't do it — but the increased desire for an honest strong man is interesting.

Are Americans losing faith in democracy?

A lot of Americans are viscerally angry at the political system. They hate Washington, they don’t trust politicians, and they are increasingly willing to vote for populist outsiders—like Donald Trump. But we usually assume that for all of their disgust with political reality, they remain as loyal to the ideal of democracy as previous generations of Americans. According to recent polling data, that is simply not the case.
