I was thinking yesterday that the next big leap is ethical from the agricultural era to the industrial era to the information era to the ethical era. The Club of Rome made a mistake. The competing proposal was as you have suggested, education and bottom up intelligence. Limits to Growth is a top down “we can control this” approach. Not sure where the blockchain technology is going, but protecting the provenance of information — assuring the integrity of information — will surely be central and hence demand a decentralized approach that ends the corruption associated with hierarchies and delegated authorities too easily abused.
