28 Oct 2012 The hidden real truth about Benghazi

As the White House and other agencies monitored intelligence in real-time, they faced a dilemma. They knew that the nation/state sponsored attack teams were lying in wait for U.S. rescue forces to arrive, which is the reason the fight did not conclusively end sooner. They did not know exactly where all of the attack teams were, but knew they were present based on signal communication intercepts. Could they risk such exposure by deploying a rescue team to Benghazi, only to end up with another Black Hawk down type scenario? In addition to that scenario, the entire operation now becomes exposed for what it is. Take another look at Panetta’s statement in that context. Does it now make more sense? Bad PR in an election year, no?

The American Diet: Self-Destruction Never Tasted So Good

Charles Hugh Smith

oftwominds.com, 21 November 2012

The atomized and empty consumerist Status Quo is the “monster Id” behind the American diet.

I know it may appear unduly harsh to discuss America's self-destructive dietary “monster Id” right before the Thanksgiving day feasting, but when is it more appropriate?

There are a great many disconnects between reality and what Americans believe out of convenience (“no snowflake feels responsible for the avalanche”) or propaganda, but perhaps none is more visible than the disconnect between what we're collectively doing to our health with the food we consume.

The Chinese have an apt saying” “Disease comes through the mouth,” meaning disease comes from what we eat.

The American point of view?

Intelligence experts discuss strategies for dealing with terrorism. Former Saudi Intelligence chief Prince Turki Al Faisal, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State James Dobbins and others talk with Reuters columnist David Rohde in a panel called “Countering Terrorist Threats, Real and Imagined” at Rand Corporation's “Politics Aside” conference in Santa Monica, Calif. (November 21, 2012)

Phi Beta Iota:  It was not a terrorist attack.  It was a commissioned, well-planned and probably state-sponsored attack against a CIA “covert” base, not a diplomatic facility, that was engaged in acts of war against the legitimate Syrian government.  The Ambassador was collateral damage.  Benghazi is a micro-cosm of everything that is wrong with the US Government in the foreign afffairs arena (starting with delusional amateurs incapable of comprehending that we are our own worst enemy).  The Syrian government's roles is being concealed from the public, and NSA is as usual behind if not completely incompetent on the relevant intercepts.

Too many people consider secession bad, and do not understand the original right of independence.  Here is a YouTube in Spanish with English sub-titles is relevant to Groeland, Scotland, Quebec, and Catalunya.

This documentar [y directed by Dolors Genovès and broadcasted by Televisió de Catalunya compares the reality of Greenland, Scotland and Quebec with Catalonia, and reflects about the following questions: Is independence/secession democratic? Would these new states be economically viable? How would EU react?

A point of view.

Katrina-Sandy: From one hurricane to another, the end of America as we knew it

Global Europe Anticipation Bulletin, 16 November 2012

As anticipated by LEAP/E2020 for several months, a major shock to the world economy and global stability has arrived in the Fall of 2012, in the form of a symbolic landmark in world history: Hurricane Sandy.

In the method of political anticipation upon which LEAP bases its analyses (1), Sandy corresponds to two characteristics: the “last-straw” event in which accumulated failures become unbearable and break the system, and the symbolic event that strikes the imagination and permanently transforms an image of reality, knowing one must always distinguish between the reality of a systemic change (at work since at least 2008) and its collective acceptance (in this case, that America is not what it once was).

The month of October 2012 will appear in history books as the date of the end of America as we knew it in the twentieth century. On October 29, the Hurricane Sandy hit New York 83 years to the day after the Black Tuesday crisis of 1929, revealing to the world the real state of American society and its symbol, New York City. The shift in perceptions in the media has been striking to behold, particularly in light of the aftermath of an election whose results the world should have applauded to: an America “changed,” “divided,” “third world,” “at an impasse,” “apocalyptic,” etc. (see a list of links below). Sandy has definitively shattered the American mirror.
