Russian group delivers the first unhackable quantum-safe blockchain

The group claims that its solution secures the blockchain by combining quantum key distribution with post-quantum cryptography so that it is essentially unhackable. It does so through the implementation of special blocks within the blockchain that are signed by quantum keys rather than the traditional digital signatures.

USAFacts Centralizes Access to Data on Government Spending

Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer’s recent project was inspired by his wife, Connie, who wished him to practice more philanthropy. Wouldn’t it help to know what our government is already doing  with its (our) money, he wondered? Out of this question has sprung USAFacts, a website that serves up “federal, state, and local data from over 70 government sources.” I appreciate the presentation, which ties data to four specific directives embedded in the Preamble to our Constitution. For example, the heading Establish Justice and Ensure Domestic Tranquility leads to stats on Crime and Disaster, Safeguarding Consumers and Employees, and Child Safety and Social Services. Tying such information to our founding document will prompt many to consider these data points in a more thoughtful way.

China is a gold mine for innovation, says head of Chinese robot firm

“I've been to the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, and Israel, and the opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship in China are just as good — in some respects it's actually better,” Yu told CNBC. That's because China is already a pretty tech-savvy place and firms continue investing in R&D, according to Yu, who added that the country's giant manufacturing machine means everything can happen in one place.

Yoda: Breaking #GoogleGestapo — the Next Internet? Basic Attention Token, Brave Software, Ethereum

Advanced Cyber/IO

The Basic Attention Token is one of the most compelling projects in the Ethereum space right now, and if successful, would fundamentally change the way advertising works on the internet. The white paper released by Brave Software is a high-level description of the idea and why it's important for the future of the internet. While the paper is light on Ethereum-specific details about the token mechanics, it still outlines the problems with the digital advertising ecosystem and presents a compelling case for a possible path forward built on top of the Ethereum blockchain.

UK Big Brother Invades More Privacy

The United Kingdom has been compared to George Orwell’s 1984 dystopia before, especially in the last two decades with their increasing amount of surveillance technology.  Once more UK citizens face privacy invasion reports the Guardian in “UK Public Faces Mass Invasion Of Privacy As Big Data And Surveillance Merge.”  The UK’s Surveillance Camera Commissioner Tony Porter expressed his worry that government regulators were unable to keep up with technological advances.

Betty Boop: Twitter Manipulating Poll on Syria — #GoogleGestapo Racketeering Network at Work?

Are Twitter polls being manipulated to suppress dissent?

A Twitter poll on Trump’s air strikes in Syria began on April 6, 2017 was observed, minute-to-minute, staying at an exact 50% to 50% spread from zero to over a thousand total votes. Such numbers, while not impossible, are highly unlikely. Perhaps more bizarrely, the poll was observed to show increases in the total number of votes, but decreases later. Some decreases occurred within the same minute; others, in later minutes.

The total number of votes cast was observed to go up and down within the same minute, and go down in the future minutes. This behavior was not observed a single time for retweets or likes.
