Iraq war architect Donald Rumsfeld has died. Not in a prison cell in The Hague, not murdered by bombs or bullets, but peacefully in his home, surrounded by loved ones, a week and a half shy of his 89th birthday.

The imperial media are giving their fallen master a king’s tribute, with headlines describing the psychopathic war criminal as “a cunning leader“, “a man of honor and conviction“, or simply as “Former defense secretary at helm of Iraq, Afghanistan wars“.

The cancerous Washington Post, who just the other day mocked the life of the late antiwar hero Mike Gravel with an obituary branding him the “gadfly senator from Alaska with flair for the theatrical,” describes the child killer Rumsfeld as the “influential but controversial Bush defense secretary” in its headline about his death.

Are geopolitical analysts in the west seriously delusional enough to believe that Russia and China can be undermined?

It was only one month ago that the world found itself trapped on a fast track to nuclear war between NATO powers and Russia over tensions that had been brought to a boil in Ukraine. Of course, it wasn’t only a Nazi-ridden Ukraine that was being used as a trigger for a major showdown, as evidence of Belarus regime change and even assassination attempts became publicized and MI6-Bellingcat antics were justifying new waves of anti-Russian sanctions across the trans Atlantic community. These antics even led to the expulsion of Russian diplomats from the Czech Republic, media psyops attempting to lay blame on the Kremlin for cyber attacks on American pipelines. Additionally, a zero-tolerance policy towards the completion of the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline appeared to be a non-negotiable red line for Washington up until recently. No matter where you looked, the spectre of nuclear war abounded for all to see and only companies specializing in the sale of bomb shelters were content with the direction of world events.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi introduced a resolution Monday that would establish a select committee to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, with an aide floating that she may name a Republican member to it.

The House Rules Committee will consider the resolution Monday, where it is expected to advance to the full House floor. It gives Pelosi the ability to appoint eight members and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy the power to appoint five in consultation with her.

An aide to the speaker said Monday, however, that she is “seriously considering” appointing a Republican as one of her eight picks, meaning that a Trump-critical Republican like Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney or Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger could potentially be named. (RELATED: Pelosi Announces She Will Begin Drafting Select Committee Legislation Into Jan. 6 Riot)

A spokesman for Cheney told the Daily Caller News Foundation that she has not yet spoken to Pelosi about being named to the committee.
