Imperialism via Data: The Digitization of Human Behavior, “Social Radar”, Sensors and Neuroscience

John Stanton, Global Research, 13 March 2016

In 2007 I wrote and presented a conceptual paper to an international studies group in Portugal. The subject matter was, generally, the use of Evolutionary Cognitive Neuroscience (ECN) to manage humanity. That paper would eventually finds its way, remarkably, into Rebecca Costa’s seminal The Watchman’s Rattle.   . . . In just under ten years, the topics alluded to in my 2007 paper have taken the form of four converging and accelerating movements that seem likely to usher in drastic change in the human condition: The digitization of human behavior; cracking open the brain through neuroscience; the engineering and manipulation of human and non-human genomes; and the proliferation of the Internet of Things, which is code for the sensorization of the human/non-human, home, work, school, automobile, street, global commons, etc.  Read more.

Did Clinton Foundation Steal $13B from Haiti? Is OAS Banned from Haiti for Electoral Fraud?

Civil Society, Corruption, Government
We should ask the Clinton family, “Where did the $13B in earthquake funds go?” Pierre Louis Opont, recently resigned President of the Provisional Electoral Council, says the results of the 2010 Haiti elections to place Michel “Sweet Mickey” Martelly into the runoff that propelled him into office were adjusted by the Organization of American States (OAS), Hillary Clinton and her State Department chief of staff Cheryl “You do great elections” Mills.

Eyewitness Accounts from Recent Defectors from Islamic State: Why They Joined, What They Saw, Why They Quit

Syrians who join IS are rewarded with salaried jobs which for young men translates into the ability to marry and for young women the money allows them to save their families from literal starvation. Foreign fighters are receiving additional rewards: wives, sexual slaves, and sometimes homes and cars. Daily life was punctuated by brutal practices – including floggings, torture and beheadings. Defections were the result of exposure to extreme brutality, disgust over the slave trade, observations of deep hypocrisy–a total mismatch between the words and deeds of IS. Charges of corruption and complaints about battlefield decisions that produced unnecessary deaths in their own ranks were also causes of disillusionment . Our informants all had come to hate IS and warn others not to join what they gradually came to see as a totally disappointing, ruthless and un-Islamic organization.

Democracy Spring Mass Protest in April

#Events, Civil Society, Cultural Intelligence

Sit in with thousands. Save democracy for millions.

It’s time to take mass nonviolent action on a historic scale to save our democracy. Next April, in Washington, D.C., we will demand that Congress take immediate action to end the corruption of big money in politics and ensure free and fair elections in which every American has an equal voice.

The campaign will begin on April 2nd with a march from the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia to Washington, D.C. where, if Congress has failed to meet our demand, thousands will gather to reclaim the US Capitol in a powerful, peaceful, and massive sit-in that no one can ignore. Over 1,500 people have already pledged to risk arrest between April 11th-16th in what will be one of the largest civil disobedience actions in a generation. Join us!
