Dr. Sandra Young writes in.I am a retired Family Physician. I quit June 29 from working at a residential facility because they would not let me treat residents or staff to protect them from Covid. The facility is home to about 460 residents, all intellectually disabled, and many with physical disabilities. I think at least half wear diapers or pull-ups and over 100 are fed through a G-tube. It is ultimately supervised by the Arkansas Department of Health. They are following the CDC–which is not a strictly government agency.
