Financial Research: Rumblings Get Louder

Regulations are having causing small tremors in the high altitude research business. I read “U.S. Asset Managers Shake Up Equity research as Banks Cut Back.” The write up offered several pieces of intelligence which might be considered “real” news.

I highlighted this headache inducing statement for the providers of high end research:

Major global investment banks slashed their equity research budgets from a peak of $8.2 billion in 2008 to $3.4 billion in 2017, according to Frost Consulting. McKinsey projects the top 10 banks will cut those budgets by another 30 percent in the near term…

Phi Beta Iota: Hats off to Newsweek for a decent story.  We have no direct knowledge but all indications are that all Popes to this point have at a minimum covered up pervasive pedophilia (1 in 10 priests) and many of them have been pedophiles themselves and perhaps also participants in Satanic ritual torture and murder of children. We predict the Catholic Church will implode with a decade as the Vatican is exposed in detail.

The Nuclear Posture Review: The World Will Not Surive the American Neoconservatives’ Doctrine of US World Hegemony

The new US nuclear posture is a reckless, irresponsible, and destabilizing departure from the previous attitude toward nuclear weapons. The use of even a small part of the existing arsenal of the United States would be sufficient to destroy life on earth. Yet, the posture review calls for more weapons, speaks of nuclear weapons as “usable,” and justifies their use in First Strikes even against countries that do not have nuclear weapons.

This is an insane escalation.
