Can Security Be Achieved Through Surveillance And Spying?

Even Le Carré's latest fiction can't do justice to Snowden

The New York Times pointed out that the Fisa court had become a “parallel supreme court“. It catered to a mirror universe beyond the reach of Congress or normal courts, servicing a new and burgeoning realm of government and private securocrats. When asked about this world, NSA bosses merely said they could not “jeopardise American security“.

How Can Any Company Ever Trust Microsoft Again?

Irrespective of the details of the current revelations about US spying being provided by Edward Snowden in the Guardian, there is already a huge collateral benefit. On the one hand, the US government is falling over itself to deny some of the allegations by offering its own version of the story. That for the first time gives us official details about programmes that before we only knew through leaks and rumours, if at all. Moreover, the unseemly haste and constantly-shifting story from the US authorities is confirmation, if anyone still needed it, that what Snowden is revealing is important – you don't kick up such a fuss over nothing.

Vaccines Do Irreparable Harm: Study from Poland

A new scientific review from Poland discusses irreparable harm done by vaccines.

This review addresses the issue in terms of adverse effects, immune system effects, neurological symptoms following vaccination, and a history of vaccines demonstrating little benefit. It centers mostly on studies not often referenced in the western world, providing fresh and broad-ranging information.

An honest reading of the study can leave little doubt that harm done may be extensive and often permanent.

Other Pieces of the US Police State are Moving Into Place on Schedule

“Documents obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation from the Homeland Security Department's Customs and Border Protection indicate that the agency is close to finalizing payload standards for its drone aircraft. Among the things the CBP might want to use in its unmanned aircraft: “non-lethal weapons designed to immobilize” targets. In 2009, the agency announced that it had acquired its sixth Predator drone, stationed at an Army Airfield in Arizona.”

As pointed out by a commenter to the article, “For one thing, there are no “non-lethal weapons”. DoD long ago renamed them “less than lethal”, because of the legal liability (rubber bullets can kill, just as a hard hit baseball to the chest can stop the heart) But more significant, DHS is paving the road for internal use of armed drones, against Americans! Or did you for one minute think that these birds are glued to the border, and can only face South?”

Max Keiser Explains Significance of Edward Snowden’s “Leak”

Twitching, rumpled and passionate, Max Keiser explains the deeper significance of Edward Snowden’s recent intelligence leaks.  It’s not about national security.  Keiser implies that Snowden has revealed evidence of a fascist market-rigging operation that’s ultimately funding America’s secret government–a corporate plutocracy.

Matrix: Who is Edward Snowden?

By Jon Rappoport

This article is a compilation of a number of pieces I’ve written about Ed Snowden and the NSA. It doesn’t replace them, but it hits the high points…

EXTRACT

For years ATS [substitute NSA] had been using its technological superiority to conduct massive insider trading. Since the early 1980s, the company had spied on anyone and everyone in the financial world. They listened in on phone calls, intercepted faxes, and evolved right along with the technology, hacking internal computer networks and e-mail accounts. They created mountains of ‘black dollars’ for themselves, which they washed through various programs they were running under secret contract, far from the prying eyes of financial regulators.

Those black dollars were invested into hard assets around the world, as well as in the stock market, through sham, offshore corporations. They also funneled the money into reams of promising R&D projects, which eventually would be turned around and sold to the Pentagon or the CIA.

Academic Corruption

Judge the Work By Its Quality

This methodology causes false facts to be considered truth. Briggs brings up the “Trust In Science Would Be Improved By Study Pre-Registration” signed by more than eighty signatories and for the scientific community to require pre-registration for publishing before results are in. The idea is that journals would publish whatever the results and reduce the amount of “making a piece publishable” thought processes.  Read full post.

It can be hard to get any insider information out of Microsoft, but Ahmet Alp Balkan is a young software engineer working at the aforementioned company. He started working at Windows Azure as an intern and he was hired right after college. Since working there he was learned a lot, much of which he did not glean from college. He tells what he learned about the business world in, “8 Months In Microsoft, I Learned These.” Some of the items he learned are quite startling and others will not even make you blink. For instance, everyone learns at some point that they are working for someone else to earn their paycheck, they also have to step outside their specialty comfort zones, getting the job done, is the most important, and the latest upgrades are usually skipped.

What is alarming is this:
