Chuck Spinney says: Even though OODA loops shaping nutty mass behaviour are becoming ever more disconnected from reality, Frank Rich shows this fact does not imply that the phenomenon of populist rage is not based on some real frustrations, grievances, anxieties, and fears.  CS

Even Glenn Beck Is Right Twice a Day

FRANK RICH

Cartoonist:Barry Blit

Time put Beck on its cover this week. Man of the Year may not be far behind. Beck is not, as many liberals assume, merely the latest incarnation of Rush Limbaugh. He is something different. That’s why he is gaining on his antecedents — and gaining traction in the country’s angrier precincts.

New research data released August 25, 2008 by Dr.  Paul Ray depicts a New Political Compass which shows that politics in the United States is no longer along a horizontal left/right divide. There is now a much more complex political landscape shaped by the emergence of what Dr. Ray calls the “Political North,” which is shifting the political center of gravity in a progressive direction beyond left and right.

This polling indicates that creating an alliance between progressive values and green politics could be a winning strategy for this [and future] election(s).

National Telephone Conference Call

Highlight: Jackie Salit and her organization, which assured the elections of both Mayor Mike Bloomberg in New York City and Barack Obama by the thinnest margin that would not have been achieved without 19 million Independents, is seeking help from the public and all organizations interested in democracy, help in challenging Barack Obama to fill the two vacant seats on the Federal Election Commission (FEC) with Independents or members of parties other than the two-party tyranny (our word, not hers).  The FEC has six commissioners and historically has been a joint venture between the Republican and Democratic parties, excluding all others–just as the Presidential Debate Commission stolen from the League of Women Voters (LWV) excludes Independents and all others.

Economics, Intelligence, & Transparency Conference

New York City, 13 September 2009, 1400-1430 EST

Planned Remarks for Robert David STEELE Vivas

9/11 discussion was yesterday, it is however central to today’s reflections

9/11 was about predatory economics, failed intelligence, and zero transparency

I only have 30 minutes to speak, but I can stay for an hour after that on the side

I’m going to cover three areas briefly.

First, my take on 9/11, partly as published in my second book, partly new stuff

Second, my take on what is happening right now between Wall Street and Washington

Third, my take on what you can do about it using legal, ethical intelligence sources & methods Continue reading “Remarks by Robert Steele at the Economics, Intelligence, & Transparency Conference, NYC 13 September 2009”

Journal: Drones versus Pioneers–Defining the Finish Line

04 Education, Civil Society, Cultural Intelligence

A foolish article about a foolish survey about a foolish educational system captures all that is wrong with America today.  The best and the brightest become hackers and self-directed pioneers (Richard Stahlman is the most righteous, Bill Gates the most obvious).  The “well-behaved” are the ones that cross “the finish line” because they do not question authority and they actually believe that 18-25 years of rote education and extended childhood is good for them.

Mr. Rockwell is a very gracious and well-spoken person.  He delivered a prepared speech that will be posted online by the Ludwig von Mises Institute at some point.  Our bottom line up front: the hard-core Libertarians are a one-trick-pony with an obsessive focus on one thing and one thing only: all against the State.  Sadly, despite a great deal of hand waving about Austrian economists, there is not much in the way of economic reflection visible, and the gentlemen was specifically unable to address a question about a natural alliance between the Libertarians armed with scarcity-centered Austrian economics, and the Greens, armed with Ecological Economics, Natural Capitalism, and “true cost” accounting; nor was he able to engage with a subsequent question on a natural alliance with those interested in Evolutionary Living.

Mr. Rockwell, who served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Ron Paul and is now Chairman of the Ludwig von Mises Institute at a time when it is experiencing extraordinary growth and drawing a great deal of attention, sought to do several things with his planned remarks:
