The technology of power is moving from the past’s emphasis on privacy and concealment toward more contemporary techniques of diversion, bias, misconception, and willful stupidity. The crude methods that George Orwell summed up in his image of the incinerator-chute “memory hole” are growing into more sophisticated devices for providing the public with misleading frameworks for mentally organizing (or rationalizations for simply ignoring) the overload of available facts, thus making it harder to remember or understand politically inconvenient knowledge.

Debt levels are unsustainable. Economic recovery isn't happening. Money is “too expensive”, draining the economy of a substantial part of its production. We seem to have some first voices appearing here that advocate cancellation of the burden which that debt puts on the whole economy… the idea is that of a debt jubilee – forgiveness of debts.

While discussing how heroin abuse and how individuals often develop an addiction, Lynch argued:“[I]ndividuals [start out] with a prescription drug problem, and then because they need more and more, they turn to heroin. It isn’t so much that marijuana is the step right before using prescription drugs or opioids — it is true that if you tend to experiment with a lot of things in life, you may be inclined to experiment with drugs, as well. But it’s not like we’re seeing that marijuana as a specific gateway.”Attorney General Lynch added that instead of trafficking rings, what “introduce[s] a person to opioids … [is] the household medicine cabinet.”

According to its designers, it can go 115 mph on the ground, where it gets 53 mpg, and 55 mph in the air with a range of 200 nautical miles. Its maximum altitude is 15,000 feet, but FAA rules restrict its operation to 10,000 feet. All that’s needed to operate it is a sport pilot’s license, which can be earned with just 12 hours of lessons. As with most paragliders, it doesn't require an airport and can take off and land from just about any open stretch of ground, including the beach.
