Google Version 2: The Calculating Predator is the public version of a series of reports prepared for clients in 2005 and 2007.

The topics covered in the monograph, published by a now defunct
publishing company, included an a review of Google's database technology Bigtable which remains today the core data management system after more than 15 years since its invention, Google's artificial intelligence activities, a review of Google's video technology, its programmable search engine (a system likely to be of interest in upcoming government investigations of the company), and technologies enabling Google's “walled garden.”

The Old and Not-So-Bold Dieblold?

Robbing ATMs with specialized hardware is not new. What is new is using the manufacturer’s own software to facilitate the attacks. Ars Technica reports, “Crooks Have Acquired Proprietary Diebold Software to ‘Jackpot’ ATMs.” Say, doesn’t Diebold also make voting machines? Perhaps there are some things that should not be automated.

“… The second largest QAnon group on Facebook has been banned from the platform, the social network announced Thursday. The group, called “Official Q/Qanon,” had nearly 200,000 members at the time of its removal. Facebook said it took the page down on Tuesday. A Facebook spokesperson told Reuters that the group was banned over posts that repeatedly broke the platform’s rules on misinformation, harassment, and hate speech…..”
