This should be read by everyone who believes that those within the DC-BELTWAY are here to protect and represent you and your families. I can personally tell you how vicious they can be when you are about to expose them. They assassinated my brother, Colonel James e. Sabow, USMC, Jimmy. and they have tried everything on me -short of murder. They have attacked me through the IRS, my professional medical credentials, the narcotics control agency, the Social security Administration, to name a few. My representatives in my state of South Dakota (past and present) won't even talk to me after they realize what has occurred. Senators Daschle, Tim Johnson, Larry Pressler and John Thune have all have all demonstrated their cowardice and their true colors. Each and everyone of them know that Col. Sabow was murdered and most of them suspect or know why. But they all remain silent! What character!

BETRAYAL is a true story of U.S. Marines who were exposed to carcinogens, injured, and continue for fight for health care and compensation.  This nonfiction account was written by two U.S. Marines who were both assigned to the most contaminated site at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, CA.  Senior Marine Corps leadership were involved in murder, crime scene cover-up, narcotrafficking (cocaine, the drug of choice), the shredding of records, and the denial of injuries from exposure to deadly contaminants at both El Toro and Camp Lejeune, NC. The connection is not a square peg in a square hole, but its damn close. Thousands of veterans and their families were once stationed at El Toro, the premier Marine Corps jet fighter base closed in July 1999.  Legislation to provide health care for Camp Lejeune, an active military installation, was passed in the 112th Congress.  However, no veteran compensation was included in the Janey Ensminger Act.  None of the veterans that served aboard these two installations were notified of their exposure to deadly contaminants when it was discovered resulting in both bases earning Superfund Cleanup Site status. Many veterans have died without ‘connecting the dots’ between their killing diseases and military service.

nato watchNATO and Russia to Cooperate on Syrian Chemical Weapon Disarmament?

By Ian Davis, NATO Watch

www.natowatch.org Promoting a more transparent and accountable NATO

It is not often that we get to blow our own trumpet. But breaking news reported in the Journal of Turkish Weekly suggests that NATO and Russia have agreed to cooperate to facilitate Syria chemical disarmament. This is exactly what NATO Watch Director Ian Davis and Andreas Persbo Executive Director of VERTIC called for in an opinion piece published on 13 September. As far we can ascertain, no one else was calling for such a strategic alignment and our efforts to place the op ed in both The Guardian and New York Times fell on deaf ears. However, a senior NATO official did read it and responded favourably in a private email on 17 September.

And now it is being reported that Russia and NATO have agreed to fund and provide technical assistance to the chemical weapon disarmament process in Syria being conducted by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). Emerging from an Ambassador-level session of the NATO-Russia Council in Brussels on Friday, Russian Ambassador Alexander Grushko said “the sides have agreed to pull off the task in strict keeping with Resolution 2118 of the UN Security Council and the subsequent resolution of the OPCW”. They had also agreed that the Syrian crisis can only be settled politically, through an all-embracing second Geneva conference on Syria, which should bring the Syrian government together with all rebel groups.

Disarmament personnel are expected to begin travelling to chemical-weapon facilities to disable equipment next week, according to an OPCW press release. The exact timing largely depends on developments within three OPCW subgroups charged with confirming chemical-arms declarations by Damascus, protecting auditors in the field and making ‘practical arrangements’ to inventory and dismantle the Syrian government's full chemical-warfare stockpile by the middle of next year. It is not yet clear what specific role the NATO-Russian cooperation will play in this process. The OPCW group faces an initial Nov. 1 deadline to eliminate the Assad regime's chemical-weapon production capacity.

As we said in our earlier op ed, this cooperation could be a potential game changer. Not only does this agreement offer a tentative route map out of the mess in Syria but also a broader strategic, normative and political rapprochement between NATO and Russia, as well as a re-invigorated United Nations. We await further details of the NATO-Russia agreement with interest.

Marcus Aurelius
Not sure just what this really means —
  • What does “most” mean?
  • I read the language of the law, which extremely broad and permissive.
  • DoJ and, of course DoD (little difference) attorneys appear to have construed the language VERY, VERY narrowly
  • SECDEF's memo, link highlighted, follows suit, seeming to focus on employees doing things like handing out basketballs in the gym.
  • Have heard nothing yet from my leadership, but suspect that Army will also take a very narrow interpretation, if for no other reason, to show that Army is tough and can press on w/o a full crew.   Not at all sure they will chose to bring back the Army War Plans Division.
  • White House obviously benefits from narrowest possible interpretation of language because it allows them to continue focus on Republican fringe as the political terrorists they have behaved like and that Mike Lukovich documented them to be in today's cartoon “Axis of Evil 2013.”

NSA Whistleblower Thomas Drake Addresses European Parliament on the American Surveillance State

Earlier today, former National Security Agency (NSA) Senior Executive Thomas Drake addressed a special Civil Liberties Committee (LIBE) created by the European Parliament to investigate spying efforts by the United States and EU countries. Addressing specially-appointed Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), Drake spoke as a former NSA crypto-linguist who witnessed what he describes as a “persistent surveillance state” that was “born during the first few critical weeks and months following 9/11.”

Drake's testimony can be read and viewed here

Drake, a whistleblower, was the subject of a federal criminal leak investigation and faced a potential 35 years under a 10-felony count indictment, including five counts under the Espionage Act. In 2011, the federal government dropped all charges against Drake.
