U.S. Foreign Policy and the Electoral College Vote. Towards a December 19 Surprise?

In a previous article entitled Constitutional Crisis, Movement to Undermine President-elect Donald Trump’s Accession to the White House? I focused on the process of confrontation between the Trump and Clinton factions leading up to the Grand Electoral College Vote on December 19th.

We are not dealing with “class conflict”. What is at stake are rivalries, confrontations and deep divisions within the elite structures with regard to America’s global military agenda. While Hillary is the candidate of the US Military Industrial Complex, her hawkish foreign policy agenda does not directly serve the interests of a large segment of corporate America including a sizeable sector of the oil industry.

The Pre-emptive Anti-Trump Coup

Washington insiders, trying to use Russia’s alleged hack of Democratic emails to get the Electoral College to reject Donald Trump, are risking making the U.S. look like the world’s largest open-air insane asylum, says John V. Whitbeck.

The current hysteria in the United States over allegations that Russia stole the American election to put its man, Donald Trump, in the White House would be hilarious if powerful people in the U.S. government and the mainstream media did not appear to take this scenario seriously.

Russia does not need to trash American democracy. From the start of this extraordinarily ugly campaign season, Americans have been doing an excellent job of that themselves. . . . With its latest attempt to de-rail the accidental but never-the-less legitimate election of Donald Trump as President of the United States of America, CIA — John Brennan specifically and every senior executive not speaking up now to disown Brennan — has crossed the line into indictable treason. CIA Declares Psychological War on US Public

The media is being played like a “Mighty Wurlitzer” today, from the foundation corrupted hacks at Alternet, to the insider pros at the Washington Post – the entire US media establishment seems to have forgotten the difference between a claim and a fact. It’s post-factual propaganda.

The intent seems to be to intervene in the Electoral College and accuse Trump of being a “Manchurian Candidate,” an agent of Russia!!! Utter nonsense. But such is life in post-truth times. UK ambassador Craig Murray:

I have watched incredulous as the CIA’s blatant lie has grown and grown as a media story – blatant because the CIA has made no attempt whatsoever to substantiate it. There is no Russian involvement in the leaks of emails showing Clinton’s corruption. Yes this rubbish has been the lead today in the Washington Post in the US and the Guardian here, and was the lead item on the BBC main news. I suspect it is leading the American broadcasts also.
