I am never surprised by the lack of intelligence & integrity among such organizations as CSIS or NAPA, or publications such as DefenseOne, but I do confess to feeling sadness over the decades of wasted trillions, active crimes against humanity, and the opportunity cost of failing to implement my ideas in the 1990's. That I am not acknowledged is to be expected — these people are completely lacking in both intelligence and integrity.

Tip of the Hat to Berto Jongman for noticing this.  I ignore them all.

BIDEN DOOR TO DOOR Do you think Biden’s door-to-door vaccine visits will become more than advisory, e.g., forcing those who refuse to be interred in FEMA camps?

Baselines are always important when reviewing information; I cannot stress this enough. When the corrupt instititional officials within the DOJ and FBI need to justify their corrupt activity, or get out in front of any exposure of their corrupt activity, they consistently run to two media outlets, The New York Times and Politico. [State Dept use CNN, Intelligence Community use Washington Post] This is the one constant you will notice in all reporting.

A Xoogler Wants to Do Search: Channeling Exalead and Smoking InfinitySearch?
Remember Exalead. This was a search engine created by a person who was asked to join the Google. The system was very good: 64 bit architecture, timely indexing of new and previously indexed sites, and novel features like searching via text for a specific point in an Exalead processed video. Now the system is part of Dassault Systèmes because senior management grew frustrated with one of the aggressively marketed “smart systems” available in the mid 2000s.

Now a Xoogler realizes that Google search is just an artifact of the Backrub search and retrieval system. What was “clever” in 1998 now generally a version of MySpace.com. Maybe anigifs are in the fridge waiting to become the next big thing at the GOOG.

Leibniz: Scientist, Sinophile and Bridge Between East and West

Many people would be surprised to discover that Gottfried Leibniz (1646-1716), a German polymath and logician best known for his discovery of Calculus, was one of the most important sinophiles of the 17th century, whose writings were instrumental in bringing the idea of Chinese culture and civilization to Europe.

Leibniz recognized the value of Chinese culture after an extensive study of Confucian texts provided to him by Jesuit scientists in Beijing. Inspired by the moral and practical philosophy that kept this ancient civilization alive (while European societies suffered nearly constant warfare), he created a journal called Novissima Sinica (News from China) in 1697. The journal was followed by an organizing effort across Eurasia to bring about a vast dialogue of civilizations, driven by the pursuit of scientific discovery and economic development.
