ORACLE delves deeper into blockchain with four new applications
This bit caught my eye:
The four applications involve supply chain-transaction data including a track and trace capability to follow a product through its delivery from inception to market, proof of provenance for valuables like drugs, intelligent temperature tracking (what they are calling Intelligent Cold Chain) and warranty and usage tracking. Intelligent Cold chain ensures that a product that is supposed to be kept cold didn’t get exposed to higher than recommended temperatures, while warranty tracking ensures that a product was being used in a proscribed fashion and should be subject to warranty claims.
Remember when the Internet was innocent and also a dangerous place? Now the Internet is a necessary tool and an even more dangerous place. World Brain wants to change that. World Brain wants to make the Internet troll free, end the dissemination of false news, users enjoy privacy, and freedom to choose their providers for the best service. I say World Brain is idealistic and naive, but maybe not.

Robert Steele: I believe the fact checker to be wrong. This is a two-way system now. What would be really interesting — apart from an opt-out capability for each owner — would be using this obvious nation-wide network to create a Trump Channel that allows direct polling of all citizens (whose number and email, registered with the US Post Office, would certify their citizenship and voting district status) as well as a Presidential Dashboard able to “read” distillations of public comments by demographic, location, and issue.
I wrote the original warning letter to the White House in 1994 on cyber-vulernability. The US Government has both undermined security and exploited commercial offerings to the point that we have a system that is totally compromised and also does not provide the needed sense-making (decision-support) capabilities for evidence-based governance. Shame on all concerned.
